TiVo Remote – Lost Volume Control

I lost the ability to control the volume on my TV through the TiVo remote. I also noticed the mute and power buttons weren’t working. The TV controls work, and so does the original TV remote. Online, it was suggested to reset and/or pair the remote up again in the settings, but none of that worked. The solution was still simple. Take the batteries out for about 30 seconds. That fixed it.

I use PhotoFiltre as my photo editing software. Sometimes I want to select a colour in the photo to apply it elsewhere. Normally, I would go to the toolbar on the right-hand side. Select the “colour picker tool”, which looks like an eye dropper, and click on the colour that I want to select. But there is a quicker way. Hover your cursor over a colour that you want to select.

One of the first problems I had with my TiVo cable service was that the batteries in my remote seemed only to last a week. I got in touch with Tech Support, and they only sent me a new remote. When you move or shake this remote in the dark, the buttons will light up. Good or bad, up for debate. I was convinced that this was one of the reasons why the batteries drained so quickly.

USB Capture Device Not Recognized

I wrote about using a “Guermok Video Capture Card” (actually a USB) to record videos from my Android TV box to my computer. I had it for about six months, then it just stopped working. I had my old Gateway desktop decommissioned for a spell. I’m going to hook it up again and connect it to my network for backup purposes, similar to my own NAS.
