It requested my Network password even though I was already using it. I put it in my password. But it keeps popping up, and I can\u2019t even cancel it. I have to go through the TV settings and force VLC to stop.<\/p>\n<p>A message would pop up occasionally. It would go by too fast to read, but it did suggest that <strong>smb couldn\u2019t find a location &#8230;. or something<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A few suggestions online include <strong>checking the username and password<\/strong>. I did it, and it was accurate. I <strong>tried to update<\/strong> it, but no updates were available. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It still didn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<p>The suggestion that worked was<strong> to disable the SMB1 option in VLC<\/strong>&#8230;<\/p><div id=\"daves-3623408011\" class=\"daves-single-post-in-content daves-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-bottom: 25px;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-7205184075006101\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7205184075006101\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"2700504761\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"false\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Open VLC.<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to the word \u201c<strong>Other<\/strong>\u201d down the orange side and then navigate over to \u201c<strong>Settings<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-151348\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings-640x480.jpg\" alt=\"vlc-other-settings\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings-640x480.jpg 640w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings-350x263.jpg 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/VLC-Other-Settings.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Go into Settings. Scroll down to \u201c<strong>Advanced<\/strong>\u201d settings.
