It&#8217;s a shame because AI can be helpful in many situations, but in my opinion, these companies only have themselves to blame.<\/p>\n<h2>Firefox\u00a0 &amp; Perplexity AI<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Firefox-Perplexity.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-151749\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Firefox-Perplexity.png\" alt=\"firefox-perplexity\" width=\"516\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Firefox-Perplexity.png 516w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Firefox-Perplexity-350x147.png 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Firefox-Perplexity-150x63.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 516px) 100vw, 516px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As reported previously, <a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/?s=firefox\">Firefox<\/a> now includes Perplexity AI as a search option. Personally, I believe the addition of Perplexity search is a plus. However, if you&#8217;re fed up with being bombarded with AI, or consider AI as unnecessary bloat, Mozilla has included simple options to disable or remove Perplexity search altogether.<\/p>\n<h3>Disable Or Remove Perplexity<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Open Firefox&#8217;s settings and click <strong>Search<\/strong> (in the left-hand panel)<\/li>\n<li>In the main panel, go to &#8220;Search Shortcuts&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>To disable Perplexity, remove the adjacent tick by clicking on it<\/li>\n<li>To remove Perplexity, highlight the Perplexity option (click on it) and then click <strong>Remove\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BONUS TIP<\/strong>: To enable Perplexity again, simply click the adjacent space (where the tick was previously) to bring the tick back.
