I don&#8217;t have too many websites that I visit on a regular basis, but it&#8217;s handy to have one-click shortcuts to those that I do visit regularly pinned to the Taskbar.<\/p>\n<p>Both Edge and Chrome include a simple native method for achieving this, but other browsers, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/brave-browser-review-first-impressions\/\">Brave<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/?s=firefox\">Firefox<\/a>, require a bit more effort. In all the following examples, I&#8217;ll be creating a shortcut to <a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/\">Daves Computer Tips<\/a>&#8230; after all, we only want to include the very best sites.<\/p>\n<h2>Pin Websites To Taskbar In Edge<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the website you want to create the shortcut for<\/li>\n<li>Open the options menu (click the three little dots at the far right of the <a title=\"Change Default Browser Search Engine In Address Bar\" href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/change-default-browser-search-engine-in-address-bar\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"252\">address bar<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>More Tools<\/strong> and then click <strong>Pin to taskbar<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A confirmation message will pop up, click <strong>Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Edge-Tasbar-Shortcut.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-151778\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Edge-Tasbar-Shortcut.png\" alt=\"edge-taskbar-shortcut\" width=\"500\" height=\"44\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Edge-Tasbar-Shortcut.png 500w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Edge-Tasbar-Shortcut-350x31.png 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Edge-Tasbar-Shortcut-150x13.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Pin Websites To Taskbar In Chrome<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the website you want to create the shortcut for<\/li>\n<li>Open the options menu (click the three little dots at the far right of the address bar)<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Cast, save and share<\/strong>, then click <strong>Create shortcut<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the message that pops up, click <strong>Create<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll now see the shortcut on the desktop<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the desktop shortcut and click <strong>Pin to taskbar<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>You can now delete the <a title=\"How To Add Desktop Shortcuts\" href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/how-to-add-desktop-shortcuts\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"251\">desktop shortcut<\/a> if you want<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Chrome-Shorcut.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-151780\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Chrome-Shorcut.png\" alt=\"chrome-shortcut\" width=\"500\" height=\"43\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Chrome-Shorcut.png 500w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Chrome-Shorcut-350x30.png 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Chrome-Shorcut-150x13.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Pin Websites To Taskbar &#8211; Other Browsers<\/h2>\n<p>I&#8217;ve tested this method in Brave and Firefox only, but I see no reason why it wouldn&#8217;t work for other browsers. The minor issue with this non-native method is that the shortcut is not clearly identifiable, but we can take steps to rectify that, which I&#8217;ll explain as we go along:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First off, assuming you already have a shortcut on the Taskbar to open the browser, you&#8217;ll need to <a title=\"Create Desktop Shortcuts In Windows 10\" href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/create-desktop-shortcuts-in-windows-10\/\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"250\">create 2 desktop shortcuts<\/a><\/li>\n<li>If you already have a desktop shortcut for the browser, right-click that shortcut and select <strong>Create shortcut<\/strong> (so you&#8217;ll now have 2 desktop shortcuts)<\/li>\n<li>If not, navigate to the browser&#8217;s executable, which will be in either <em>C:\\Program Files\\Browser Name<\/em> or <em>C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Browser Name<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Right-click the executable and select <strong>Create shortcut<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the pop-up message, click <strong>Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Message.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-151783\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Message.png\" alt=\"shortcut-message\" width=\"410\" height=\"139\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Message.png 410w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Message-350x119.png 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Message-150x51.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Right-click the new desktop shortcut and select <strong>Create shortcut<\/strong> (so you&#8217;ll now have 2 desktop shortcuts)<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;ll be working with the second shortcut, not the original, so it&#8217;s important to note which is which<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the website you want to create a shortcut for and copy the URL from the address bar<\/li>\n<li>Right-click the second desktop shortcut and select <strong>Properties<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Target<\/strong> field, at the end of the existing target, insert a single space and then paste in the URL you copied earlier<\/li>\n<li>It should look like this:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;C:\\Program Files\\BraveSoftware\\Brave-Browser\\Application\\brave.exe&#8221; https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To help identify the new shortcut, click <strong>Change icon<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Properties.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-151784\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Properties.png\" alt=\"shortcut-properties\" width=\"369\" height=\"549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Properties.png 369w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Properties-269x400.png 269w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Shortcut-Properties-101x150.png 101w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll see a selection of different colored icons to choose from.
